A&E launches A&E, History Channel and Lifetime for Android streaming apps, no subscription needed

A&E Television Networks has launched apps for A&E, History Channel and Lifetime on Google Play, and each Android app notably allows non-cable subscribers in the US to stream some content.

The A&E app has shows like Duck Dynasty, Storage Wars and Intervention, while the History Channel app features Pawn Stars, Vikings, Counting Cars, Mountain Men, American Pickers, Swamp People, etc.

The Lifetime app not only boasts popular shows like Runway, Devious Maids, Dance Moms and Army Wives, but also has more than 25 full-length movies and a daily television schedule.

All apps, which were previously available only for iOS, are free to use and offer full episodes, clips and deleted scenes. But not all shows and episodes are available in full. For instance, in some cases, users can only stream clips from Lifetime, History Channel and A&E instead of entire episodes.

Comcast and DirecTV cable subscribers in the US can login to get unlimited, full access to content.
