CES 2008: Waterproof wireless speaker launches

Floating effort for the pool or bath

This CES find is fun, in a gimmicky way. A waterproof wireless speaker, this floats on water so you can enjoy your tunes in the pool, or bath even.

With an effective range up to a claimed 600 feet, it works on the 2.4Ghz wireless frequency and can apparently cope with up to 50 paired devices.

The speaker requires 6 AAA batteries and the wireless transmitter 3.

Its 3.5mm jack input means it can also just work as a bog standard speaker, while its curved design means you can lay your MP3 player in it as it floats, although we'd advise caution if you are going down this route.

It's not mega powerful at just 2 x 2 Watts output but that would be enough to get you singing along in the tub.
