CES 2008: PlayPod gaming chair gets CES debut

Your personal gamer theatre

9 January 2008 19:50 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Launched at CES is this cool looking gaming chair. Only in prototype stage just now, the company behind the "PlayPod" hope to make it a real world product very soon.

Essentially just an item of furniture (there is no AV hook-up that you might expect) the theory is that this creates a personal "gamer theatre" for a more immersive console gaming experience.

With a comfortable seat, space for a decent-sized television, suitable gap for a console and plenty of storage space for games and accessories, it will apparently cost about as much as a decent home theatre system.
