New Xbox 360 and Kinect pictures and eyes-on
To complement the look of the Xbox One, Microsoft has opted to refresh the Xbox 360 too, adding the new styling and logo to give proceedings a more “family” feel.
That's just about the only change on the rejigged Kinect sensor, but the new console – surely the last iteration for the current-generation machine – is significantly different in looks.
It borrows heavily on the more square angular design of the Xbox One. Gone are the indented sides, giving the exterior a more boxlike structure. And the two-tone pattern of the One is repeated here.
Funnily enough, although rumour had suggested that this would be the Xbox 360 Slim, it actually seems chunkier. Sadly, sitting behind its glass prison it also looked cheap in comparison to former versions. And thar's the rub.
It is perhaps on purpose that Microsoft has opted to give the new Xbox 360 a cheaper look, because when sitting alongside the Xbox One, it makes the next-gen box look classy.
Costing £149.99 for the 4GB version and £199.99 for 250GB, the new Xbox 360 is available in shops now.
