Alienware has gone curvy with its widescreen monitors.

Although a concept at the moment, the latest monitor from Alienware is getting gamers all excited about the possibility of "immersive gaming".

This future launch is not a traditional LCD but actually a DLP display.

The single pane screen has a resolution of 2880 x 900 - which equates to two 19-inch 1440 x 900 screens side by side.

It has a 00.02ms response time which is claimed to be about 100x faster than the fastest current LCD screen.

Engadget reports that currently you can see currently see the dividers between the four panels that make up the screen but Alienware told them that these will be almost invisible on final release.

Online reports suggest, however, game developers and driver developers will have some work to do before the proposed launch in the second half of this year to support this new resolution spec.

No price as yet but we imagine that it's not going to be cheap!
