Google Keyboard with Nexus experience lands in Play Store

Google wants all Android users to have a Nexus experience when typing, so it has launched Google Keyboard for download on the Google Play Store.

The keyboard features the very same bells and whistles found in Jelly Bean's stock keyboard, including: gesture typing, auto-correction, word predictions, microphone-functionality with voice typing, dictionaries for 26 languages and even more keyboard layouts.

"It provides a fast, accurate, and reliable typing experience," announced the Android team on Google+, while also reminding users that Android is open and offers access to even more keyboard alternatives like SwiftKey and TouchPal.

So, for those unsatisfied with the default keyboard options on non-Nexus devices, Google Keyboard is rolling out to Google Play today. The download requires devices running Android 4.0 and up, and it is initially only available in English-speaking countries.
