Logitech introduces resilient iPad keyboard for classrooms
Pricey Bluetooth keyboards for iPads are all the rage, but sometimes a tethered and rugged accessory is more practical when it comes to a classroom full of bubbling young energy.
Children are notorious for being carefree, so classroom equipment needs to be equally hassle-free, and accessory manufacturer Logitech thinks it finally has the answer. The company announced on Wednesday a new-wired keyboard for the iPad, and it's perfect for classrooms due to its seamless plug-and-play experience.
The Logitech Wired Keyboard has an integrated Lightning connector or, depending on which model, a 30-pin connector, and it features a lifespan of more than 5 million keystrokes, a spill-resistant, low-profile, full-size key design, and shortcuts to popular iOS functions like Siri and App switching.
“While tablets are enabling new ways of teaching and testing, there’s a challenge when a teacher needs to simultaneously pair multiple iPads with multiple wireless Bluetooth keyboards," said Mike Culver, vice-president and general manager of mobility at Logitech, in a press release. "We developed the Logitech Wired Keyboard for iPad to specifically solve this problem, so students can now simply plug it in and start typing.”
The Logitech Wired Keyboard for iPad with the Lightning Connector will first launch in the US in August 2013 for a suggested retail price of $59.99 (£40), and the 30-pin Connector version will debut a couple of months later for the same price. It's available for pre-order now at Logitech's website.
