MediaStreet has unveiled the world’s first solar-powered portable media player. And, as an added bonus, the charger will power other devices too.
The 1GB eMotion Solar Portable Media Player comes with AC adapter and USB connector (six varieties) that can recharge most mobile phones, MP3/MP4 players, laptop computers, digital cameras and other portable Lithium battery operated products.
Norm Levy, president of MediaStreet explains: "We started off developing a product that would allow our customers to charge their portable devices on-the-go using solar energy".
"We ended up with a most spectacular device that not only charges your cell phone, laptop and PDA, but it is a robust and power-packed portable media player that you will not want to take your hands off."
Users can transfer music, digital books, photos, videos and games on and off the player, which measures 5.5 x 3 x 1 inches.
It has an SD card slot for adding more memory up to 2GB.
It is expected to retail at about $169.
MediaStreet is also introducing an eMotion 2.8-inch Personal Media Player with Touch Screen and 2GB or 4GB hard drive.
This delivers a 320 x 240 screen resolution and is 2.125 x 3.75 x 0.5 inches in size.
It has a miniSD card slot for adding more memory.
As well as music, photo and video functionality, it also boasts an FM tuner with eight music presets.

It is priced $129 for the 2GB version and $149 for the 4GB device.
And last but not least, the company unveiled the eMotion 3.5-inch Portable Media and DVD Player.
