Hipstamatic has come to Windows Phone 8 and, in particular, Nokia Lumia smartphones following a deal between the two companies.
Coming in the form of Hipstamatic Oggl, the new app also released by the developer for iPhone at the end of last week will allow people to apply different filters to their photos before sharing them on social networks like Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Foursquare and Instagram.
Hipstamatic Oggl will offer a number of filters as well as tap into the new Oggl service from the company.
Tapping into that Oggl community, people will be able to see other the photos of people they follow. The app will also allow users to buy more effects and features.
The app may be seen by many as a stopgap while waiting for the more popular Instagram app for Windows Phone 8. However, Hipstamatic sees it as a major step in reintroducing the original favourite retro camera software to a new generation of phone users - those who want more social sharing aspects.
The new app will be available in June in time for the launch of the new Lumia 925.
