Acer has announced the Iconia A1 tablet. The new slate features a 7.9-inch IPS LED-backlit display and is priced at \u00a3145 in Wi-Fi only form, right in line with the Nexus 7.It uses a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, which again, is right in line with the Nexus 7. The screen is 1024 x 768 resolution and sits in a 4:3 ratio. The new tablet weighs\u00a0410g and is only 11.1mm thick.Acer promises a clever gesture based wake up experience for the tablet. Switching it on, you can swipe to go directly to any of your chosen apps. The tablet also has full Bluetooth 4.0 and a\/b\/g\/n Wi-Fi. There's a 5-megapixel camera on the rear.It will be launching in two forms, a Wi-Fi only variant at around \u00a3145 arriving at the end of May, or a 3G option, launching in July for roughly \u00a3200.\u00a0Acer's B1 tablet, which the company showcased at CES this year, will also be going on sale. Launching in mid-June, the B1 Wi-Fi will cost around \u00a3110. The 3G version will land at the end of July for about \u00a3150.
