How short is short? Well according to the company the PLC-XL50 need just 3-inches to create an 80-inch projection.
The reduced throw distance means that the projector, which can be used horizontally or vertically can be mounted on the floor, a tabletop or wall.
Tech specs include 2000 lumens brigtness, a 1024 x 768 resolution, an aspect ratio of 4:3 and Component Input (RCAx3), Composite (RCA), S-Video sockets.
First debuted in June last year, the PLC-XL50 is now shipping and will cost around $3295.
