Facebook has added Chat Head functionality to its existing Facebook app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with an update. Unfortunately though, there are no signs that the Facebook Home launcher – as available on Android – will be coming to the platform.
The Facebook application for iOS also gets other new features with the update, including Stickers, which allow you to be inventive in your private messages. Unlike emoticons, Stickers are huge on an iPhone screen.
In addition, several improvements have been made to the News Feed in the app. These, Facebook says, are more visually apparent on the iPad version of the software. “You’ll see brighter, more beautiful stories,” Facebook claims.
Chat Heads make up a major feature of the Facebook Home Android launcher, offering circular avatars for your friends during chat. Their integration into the existing iOS app makes the experience more aesthetically similar.
Rumour also has it that Facebook is talking to Apple about a prospective iPhone and iPad version of Facebook Home, but how a launcher would work on the operating system is unknown.
