Samsung really does want all the glory this week. First the Galaxy Mega, then the special-edition garnet red Galaxy Tab 2 and SGS 3 Mini and now, a Sprint exclusive purple version of the Galaxy S3.

Samsung's top-of-the-line handset is available in Amethyst Purple for Sprint subscribers in the US. None of the handset internals has changed. Do remember though, this is the LTE version so you get the 1.5GHz dual-core processor inside.

The whole phone runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and comes will all the latest Samsung bells and whistles. It also comes with the knowledge that it will soon be replaced by the new Galaxy S4, which is due to go on sale on 26 April.

The Galaxy S3 was one of the must have smartphones of 2012. While it is now a bit long in the tooth in the mobile phone world, it is still one of the most cutting-edge handsets available. The 720p Super AMOLED screen is particularly impressive, especially when wrapped in a nice shiny purple.
