HTC is tipped to release the HTC M4, a variant of the HTC First without Facebook Home and the addition of HTC's UltraPixel camera technology.
LabTooFer was able to get its hands-on specs for the mid-range device. The HTC M4 is said to feature a Snapdragon 400 MSM8930 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch 720p screen, HTC UltraPixel/1.6M camera, GPS/Glonass, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Android 4.2.2, and Sense 5.0.
The HCT First was announced as the first handset to feature Facebook Home pre-loaded. For those not familiar with it , it's a custom Android launcher developed in-house at the social network. The HTC M4 (most likely shipping under a different name) will ship as an alternative for customers who don't want the Facebook experience pre-loaded. There's also the added camera bonus.
Interestingly, before HTC announced its flagship HTC One, it carried the codename HTC M7. Given as the new device is the HTC M4, this suggests it's HTC's mid-range device to take on the market.
No pricing or availability has been detailed, but you bet we'll keep a close lookout.
