Samsung's Galaxy Note 8.0 has gone on sale in the UK at the company's own Experience Store in Westfield Stratford City.

The tablet, which sits between small form factor devices like the Nexus 7 and larger iPad sized slates, also includes the S Pen found in Samsung's Note 10.1 device.

With the S Pen and Note 8.0 you are able to draw and take notes as well as engage in all the other usual Android tablet actions, all on a mid-sized 8-inch screen.

Samsung now makes a wide range of tablets, starting with the cheaper Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 which has a 7-inch screen, followed by the Note 8.0 and the range topping Galaxy Note 10.1.

So many screen sizes, so many devices, the important thing to remember is any Samsung product with Note in the name ships with an S Pen.

Inside the Galaxy Note 8.0 is a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. The whole tablet is powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, so should benefit from the added slickness that one of the most recent versions of Android brings.

From 15 April for a limited time, the Galaxy Note 8.0 will also ship with a few added extras. The first is a £20 voucher to spend in Samsung's Learning Hub. Next is two months of subscription to the Times newspaper. Then Samsung also throws in a month's free access to its Music Hub, Need for Speed and Sonic apps and finally, there's 50GB of free Dropbox space for two years. Plenty of incentives there.

Samsung says other points of sale will follow, but for the time being it's to east London and the Westfield for Galaxy Note 8.0 fans.
