CES 2008: Asus R700 Satnav launched

Offers 4.3-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth among other things

Asus has announced the R700 Personal Navigation Device (PND) at CES in Las Vegas hoping to captialise on previous models the company has launched up against the bigger player like TomTom and Navman.

The R700 PND is according to the company the first PND to introduce a 3D navigation engine that integrates real-time traffic information to give users the fastest traveling routes.

Tech specs include a 1.3cm thick chasis, a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and the ability to announce your incoming text messages verbally.

Other features include Bluetooth, MP3 support and the chance to display photos when you're not lost.

The Satnav device will cost $399, and it will be available in North America in mid-January.
