Samsung has started off the year with three new digi compact launches.
The key shared feature of the new additions to the Samsung NV range is dual image stabilisation, as well as the Smart Touch User Interface, which has become a hallmark of this range.
Samsung adds that the new models offer "improved processing technology which allows faster operation of functions within the cameras’ ultra-thin stylish bodies", as well as improved noise reduction (up to ISO 3200).
Other key shared features include faster Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) to 0.7 seconds and a local contrast control which enables the camera to compensate the brightness of a shadowed subject in backlit conditions.
The first launch is the Samsung NV40, which is a 10-megapixel compact camera featuring a 3 x optical zoom lens, Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) and Red-Eye Fix.
It boasts an intelligent 2.5-inch LCD screen which "automatically detects environmental lighting and adjusts LCD brightness for optical image viewing", claims Samsung.
Next up is the NV30, which is an 8 megapixel model.
Its key feature is high sensitivity capture at ISO 3200, but the camera also offers a 2.5-inch LCD screen
The NV30 comes complete with a rechargeable battery and can also be charged via USB.
Finally, there is the Samsung NV4, which also delivers 8 megapixel resolution images.
It offers both an Advanced Shake Reduction (ASR) system and Red-Eye Fix technology, 3x optical zoom and the SRS sound effect function delivering movie and music capabilities.
The NV4 is priced at £149, NV30 at £179 and NV40 at £199 and they will all be available from next month.
All Samsung cameras come with a 2-year warranty.
