First shown more than a year ago at CES in January 2012, the 55-inch LG OLED television as finally made it way on to UK shores. It will be exclusive to Harrods in Knightsbridge, London, where you can see a model on display and pre-orders are now being taken. The LG 55EM970V, to give it its full designation, is just 4.5mm thin and weighs less than 10kg. It will ship to UK buyers in July and costs £9,999.Pocket-lint has seen a couple of LG OLED TVs in the past year - the 55EM9600 and 55EA9800, shown at CES 2012 and CES 2013 respectively. The UK model, EM970V, is essentially the same as the Korean 55EM9700 released in LG's home nation at the beginning of the year.It has a WRGB OLED display which adds an extra white pixel to the regular red, green and blue ones to give pictures an extra zing, and, from what we've seen in the past, the 1080p resolution looks sharper thanks to colour vibrancy, in our opinion. The set includes LG's Smart TV connected platform and Cinema 3D (passive) technology. It also features the company's proprietary edge-to-edge Cinema Screen Design, almost getting rid of the bezel entirely. The UK is the first country in European to get the OLED TV.
