CES 2008: 3M create mini projector for mobile phones
Unlike DLP concept products expected in next couple of months

3M has announced the launch of an ultra-compact, LED-illuminated projector designed for integration into phone's Portable Media Players and virtually any personal electronic device.
Roughly the size of a wireless earpiece and less than half an inch thick, the 3M mobile projection engine will offer VGA resolution images and unlike the DLP Texas Instruments concept Pocket-lint wrote about in September, is according to 3M available today.
When deployed in a host platform, such as a mobile phone, 3M say the technology can project a 40-inch or larger image.
3M says it is partnering with leading consumer electronics companies that plan to launch products in the next couple of months.
