3M has announced the launch of an ultra-compact, LED-illuminated projector designed for integration into phone's Portable Media Players and virtually any personal electronic device.Roughly the size of a wireless earpiece and less than half an inch thick, the 3M mobile projection engine will offer VGA resolution images and unlike the DLP Texas Instruments concept Pocket-lint wrote about in September, is according to 3M available today.
When deployed in a host platform, such as a mobile phone, 3M say the technology can project a 40-inch or larger image.
3M says it is partnering with leading consumer electronics companies that plan to launch products in the next couple of months. Phones, Home Cinema, Projectors, 3M, CES2008
