Garmin has announced a new version of its Forerunner GPS watch device, the Forerunner 405.

The new wristwatch designed for adverture runners will offer a series of new training tools for "Recreational joggers and elite runners alike" according to the company.

Runners can track their speed, distance, heart rate and location while a patent-pending touch bezel on the face of the watch promises to make navigating the options easier than before.

According to Garmin, users will be able to tap, hold or run a finger along the bezel to begin a new workout, access their training history or challenge a Virtual Partner that offers a pacing guide for training.

Once the training is done, users will be able to pull the workout data off the watch and on to a computer via automatic wireless data transfer.

Suggested pricing for the Forerunner 405 begins at $299. No price has been set for the UK yet.
