Medion has announced the Erazer X7819 laptop. Priced at £899, it has to be one of the most powerful laptops we have seen for the money.

For just under a grand you get a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i7-3630QM processor, 16GB of RAM, 750 GB of hard drive space and, crucially, a Nvidia GTX 670MX graphics card.

The laptop also features a 1600 x 900 17.3-inch screen. There is a more-expensive variant of the X7819 which features a 1080p screen. Priced at £1,029, it loses the 670MX and goes for a 650M. For those who want the best, the £1,149 version comes with a Full HD screen and the 670MX.

As for connectivity, the laptop uses two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a HDMI out and a VGA out. Sound is covered with a microphone, a line in, line out and a S/PDIF8-channel audio out. There is also a multi-card reader included.

Medion keeps on turning out the affordable powerhouses. We have tested its previous systems and none has disappointed. Build quality can be a touch off, but the value for money is hard to ignore.

Medion has the laptops on sale on its website right now
