In what has to be the ultimate video game collection ever amassed, a 6,850-title auction has just been listed on eBay.

The asking priced is $550,000 for the lot, which includes more than 330 games consoles, 220 controllers and 185 accessories. It is, hands down, the most incredible collection of video game history we've ever seen.

The full listing of items features more than 10,000 images of all the kit. Portable consoles such as the NeoGeo are there, alongside other rarities including something called the Game Boy Axe, which we have never seen before.

As for consoles, every single box is ticked, from PS3 to the Sega Saturn. The whole collection is so vast that the seller simply cannot store it anymore and has decided to sell it.

The gamer explains that even attempting to play all the games in the collection would take two or three lifetimes. Then again, this collection clearly isn't just about playing games,  but about being able to say you own every single piece of video game history, or thereabouts.

For those interested, the auction appears now to have ended with no bids. Shame, maybe HMV would have taken it all on a trade-in? Only joking.
