iOS 6 jailbreak now available, evasi0n ready for release

The evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 6 and 6.1 is now ready for download. Hacker collective evad3rs claims to have busted the operating system wide open and is offering the jailbreak as a free download on its site.

The jailbreak, which has been in much demand since Apple released iOS 6 last year, can be installed on any iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini running iOS 6 through to 6.1, and the evasi0n software is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Instructions to perform the jailbreak are simple, says evad3rs, It will take only five minutes of your time, the group claims, and a USB cable to hook your iDevice to your computer of choice.

The software should perform the hack for you, but you are very much advised to back up all of your data through iTunes or iCloud first.

Some people like to jailbreak their device to be able to install applications not necessarily approved by Apple, but until now they've not been able to with the release of iOS 6. Now they can yet again.
