Network EE has announced that iPhone 5 owners who subscribe to a 4GEE plan can now access the visual voicemail feature on their devices.
Visual voicemail provides a list of messages left for you to browse through, rather than have to listed through sequentially. You can listen to them in whichever order you prefer, play and pause them, and even use the traditional iOS "scrubber bar" to go back and forth through the message. You can also delete them using the delete button as the message is playing, or by swiping right to left on each entry in the list.
UK data is used to download the messages, which is why you will not be able to access them abroad if you're not on a data roaming plan, but it is offered free of charge.
EE is only the second network to offer the visual voicemail function in the UK. O2 has supported the feature since it was the sole Apple device carrier several years ago.
To get EE visual voicemail, 4G iPhone 5 users need to text "iPhone visual" to 150. The service will be activated, says EE, within 24 hours.
