RIM to air Super Bowl ad showing off BB10, tease BB10 tablets
RIM has announced that shortly after it debuts BlackBerry 10 worldwide on 30 January, the company plans to run a Super Bowl ad hyping the new mobile OS on 3 February.
In its release, RIM also confirmed the arrival of BlackBerry 10 tablets at some point. Many details on a BlackBerry 10 tablet haven't been shared, so it's nice to hear official word from RIM, even if accidentally.
"RIM confirms that BlackBerry 10, its new mobile computing platform that will power the next generation of smartphones and tablets, will be featured in a commercial during Super Bowl XLVII," the company said.
Recent rumours have suggested RIM will introduce the BlackBerry Z10 (L-Series) and full Qwerty (N-Series) at the 30 January event. The four other devices (and now tablet) set to launch in 2013 have yet to be detailed.
Prospective carriers have also leaked worldwide in recent months, with Vodafone in the UK, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T in the US, and Virgin Mobile in Canada possibly hosting at least some of the six devices RIM plans to roll out.
Pocket-lint will be providing live coverage from the 30 January event, where we may hear more info on the tablet.
