Samsung ATIV Odyssey to ship on Verizon in US 24 January
The Samsung ATIV Odyssey, known as the ATIV S in the UK, has been tipped for release on Verizon Wireless stateside, a few weeks after being announced at CES 2013.
Slashgear has pegged the release date for 24 January, without any official word from the carrier.
The Windows Phone 8 handset is complete with a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear-camera, 1.2-megapixel front-camera, and microSD slot supporting up-to 64GB of storage.
The Odyssey's launch in the US is notable because it's Samsung's first Windows Phone 8 launch in the US and adds to Verizon's minuscule Windows Phone 8 presence.
Available exclusively to Phones 4 U in the UK with a few different specs, the Odyssey is light and large, offering a big battery. It is also one of the few WP8 smartphones that has expandable storage via an micro SD.
When asked for comment, Verizon said it would not talk rumours.
