Specs for an alleged 6.9mm thick Xperia Z tablet have leaked, and are said to complement the company's 5-inch Xperia Z handset announced at CES 2013.

The Xperia Z tablet will allegedly feature a 10.1-inch, 1920×1200 Full HD touchscreen, 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage, an 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, LTE, and 6,000 mAh battery, according to the Xperia Info Twitter account.

Some may remember the Xperia Tablet S tablet and Xperia T handset, announced on the same day last August, as a duo that complemented each other. With the Xperia Z handset now gearing up to land in customers' pockets, the Xperia T is no longer in the limelight.

The Xperia Z tablet seems to make sense as a complement to the Xperia Z handset, which has been well received. During our hands-on with the smartphone, we found it to be well constructed and zippy, but our review will tell the full story.

The specs for the Xperia Z tablet are unconfirmed, but do sound believable, given the internals of the handset and the need for a tablet update, not to mention the problems that were quickly found with the current iteration.

A Mobile World Congress reveal in Barcelona, 25-28 February, may be plausible. In the meantime we'll certainly be watching for more details.
