Lomography film scanner lets you share 35mm film from a smartphone

Lomography aims to bring analogue into the new age by acting as a film scanner that can easily hook-up with a smartphone, allowing users to scan, edit and print 35mm film.

Available on Kickstarter to gain funding, the Lomography is powered by two AA batteries, and the process starts by loading a film strip through the back-lit scanner. A photo is then captured by using your smartphone's camera.

The company also makes an iPhone and Android app available for sharing and editing a photo once it's been captured,

Photo enthusiasts are said to love this product, as it offers a convenient way to make scans, rather than lugging around a bigger machine.

The Lomography is priced at $60 for the scanner ($20 for EU shipping) or $100 for the scanner and Sprocket Rocket starter package.

The folks at Lomography say the project should ship to Kickstarter backers in March 2013.
