Apple's supposedly coming-soon sub-notebook, or ultra portable laptop, has received corroboration from an unlikely source.

BGR reports the much-rumoured product is aparently due to be announced at January's Macworld event.

The source for these latest rumours is rap artist Just Blaze.

It seems Apple roped the star, as well as other big music names, into performing at their staff Christmas party in return for free kit.

The kit proffered was apparently "free notebook to be announced at the Macworld San Francisco expo", spec or details for the new product was not discussed, but the new notebooks will reportedly go on sale just a week after the expo.
