Xperia Z leaks again, this time confirming waterproof and HDR video
New pictures of the Xperia Z (codenamed C660X Yuga) have appeared, courtesy of an official promotional video for the handset leaked by Weibo and ePrice in China.
The highly rumoured Xperia Z has been difficult for Sony Mobile to keep under wraps, with several leaks of the handset emerging online in recent weeks.
Giving us a closer look at the overall design of the Xperia Z, several features and specs have now also been confirmed, before its expected official announcement at the start of CES in Las Vegas.
The video stills suggest a water-resistant chassis by showing water on the screen, HDR video and photo, a “Full HD Reality display”, 13MP Exmor RS camera, OptiContrast panel, and what Sony calls a “Skeleton frame structure”. We're still awaiting word on the other rumoured specs, which include a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel display and quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset with Adreno 320 graphics.
Additionally, Sony is rumoured to be announcing the Xperia ZL, which from leaks appears to be a more-compact version of the Xperia Z. Recent talk suggests it has the same internal specs as the Xperia Z, but we're not sure that will be the case.
Press photos of both handsets were leaked last week, making them look particularly appealing. With an expected CES 2013 launch in Las Vegas this week, we don't have too much longer to hear official word on pricing and availability.
Pocket-lint will be in Las Vegas in full-force to bring you the latest.
