Fujifilm's staple XP-series sees in its latest waterproof compact, the FinePix XP60, which can withstand a soaking up to 6 metres underwater.
Picthed as the "family-friendly" waterproof, the XP60 is also tough enough to withstand family life with a range of hard-as-nails features. It's shockproof, sandproof and even freezeproof. A bit like the Arnie of compact cameras.
The XP60 offers a new 16-megapixel sensor for, Fujifilm claims, better image quality than its 14-megapixel XP50 predecessor and adds a speedy 10 frames per second high-speed shooting mode too.
Otherwise the XP60 is much the same as it's predecessor: It's got the same 5x optical zoom (28-140mm equivalent) lens, can capture 1080p HD video and comes loaded with a variety of shooting modes.
No final word on price as yet, but we do know that the FinePix will be launched in a choice of colours in the UK. Take your pick from yellow, blue, red, green or black. We reckon the brighter the better to keep an eye on this waterproof snapper when at the beach or by the pool.
