Proof, as if any were needed, that Santa is a busy man

24 December 2007 0:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

There was yet another scandal at the BBC a while back that might have slipped beneath your radar - a so-called "expert" on the Jeremy Vine show suggested that Santa Claus doesn't exist.

Poppycock.

We know, because we've seen him. And you can too.

Every year, those fun-loving, laid-back, family-friendly, laugh-a-minute dudes, the US military, follow Santa using every means at their disposal. The Norad tracking system in Colorado is aimed at the jolly fat man as he covers the globe delivering his priceless payload.

From 2am US Mountain Time (that's 9am GMT) you can watch Santa's progress in real time using Google Earth and Uncle Sam's state of the art military might.

Fingers crossed there's no unfortunate friendly fire incidents tonight...
