Apple has released an update for the iPhone 5 and iPad mini that contains “improvements and bug fixes”, alongside a specific fix for a "bug that could impact Wi-Fi".

The bug, which many consumers claimed disabled Wi-Fi connectivity for the iPhone and iPad, was previously believed to have been fixed in iOS 6.0.1.

Available via iTunes or via the Software Update feature in Settings the 51.4MB update doesn't look to add any new features or change any additional settings.

iPhone 5 and iPad mini owners who choose to update will have to have more than 50 per cent battery to complete the update.
