The Lobster iPhone case: Probably the most impractical case you will ever see

Inspired by a Salvador Dali quote, that goes along the lines of, "I do not understand why, when I ask for a grilled lobster in a restaurant, I am never served a cooked telephone", one designer has taken those words a little too much to heart and created just that: a lobster phone.

"The red Lobster Mobile Telephone Case is a modern appropriation of Salvador Dali’s Lobster Telephone (Aphrodisiac telephone), created in 1938," writes Elliot Gorham, aka Noddy Boffin, a Melbourne-based designer/maker.

"Unlike the typical phone case, it doesn’t offer functionality of protection and style. Its features include; camera incapability, ergonomically awkward, too big for your pocket or handbag and, most importantly, its ability to cause its users embarrassment."

Designed as a bit of fun rather than an attempt to make Gorham rich, he does promise one thing however: "Like most mobile phone cases, it does offer the illusion of individualism."

Bonkers.
