Twitter photo filters are here, battle with Instagram starts now
After all the rumour and speculation, Twitter has launched photo filters for Twitter users as it looks to take on Facebook-owned Instagram.
"Starting today, you’ll be able to edit and refine your photos, right from Twitter. The latest versions of Twitter for iPhone and Twitter for Android introduce a few new ways to enhance the images you tweet," it says.
The company has turned to Aviary to power the filters and effects and there will be eight to chose from in total ranging from black & white to vintage.
The micro-blogging service will let you see a how each filter would affect your photo in a single grid view, or swipe through looks to compare your options, as well as let you crop and pinch to zoom in order to focus attention. There will also be an auto-enhance mode that lets you balance light and colors by tapping a wand.
The new features are available in a new Android and iPhone app which is rolling out now.
