Twitter has rejigged its regional Trends function to include 100 new cities around the world, allowing you to see what others are getting excited about in a more localised fashion.
This includes a further 12 cities in the UK, including Belfast, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, Portsmouth and Sheffield. These join London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow, which have been available as regional options for a while.
You can browse any of the local Trends by clicking "Change" in the Trends bar, and Twitter has suggested several local people (a bit League of Gentlemen, perhaps) to follow to get a taste of the sort of subjects you'll see.
Those in Cardiff, says Twitter, could follow the @Stereophonics, for example. Or Geordies could keep up with the exploits of @antanddec. However, we won't be following Leeds boy @chrisdjmoyles anytime soon, at least until the restraining order has been lifted. His, not ours.
