Ashton Kutcher Steve Jobs biopic to debut at Sundance in January
Jobs, the first of two biopics about the former CEO and co-founder of Apple, will be the closing movie of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival to be held in January.
Starring Ashton Kutcher, the film (written as "jOBS" - yes, we know) chronicles the "defining 30 years of Steve Jobs' life", from 1971 up to the creation of the first iPod - the product that changed everything for him and his company. It also examines the other companies he created and/or lead - NeXT and Pixar - and the decisions he made to become one of the most influential figures in American history.
The film will be shown on 27 January 2013. There's no indication yet of a date for general release, global or otherwise.
The other Steve Jobs movie, based on the biography by Walter Isaacson, is some way off from release. Aaron Sorkin, who previously wrote the screenplays for Moneyball and The Social Network, is still working on the adaptation.
