Apple pays blog for silence

Shuts down ThinkSecret in "settlement"

Notorious Apple blog ThinkSecret has been shut down by Apple, following a 2005 lawsuit and subsequent "settlement".

A press statement on the site, that proved troublesome for Apple with product leaks aplenty, reads:

"Apple and Think Secret have settled their lawsuit, reaching an agreement that results in a positive solution for both sides. As part of the confidential settlement, no sources were revealed and Think Secret will no longer be published."

"Nick Ciarelli, Think Secret's publisher, said 'I'm pleased to have reached this amicable settlement, and will now be able to move forward with my college studies and broader journalistic pursuits'."

Over the years ThinkSecret revealed many forthcoming Apple products before they were officially announced. Their inside source at Apple was never revealed.

ThinkSecret will be missed by the blogosphere, but keep it tuned to Pocket-lint for all Apple gossip, as well as all other consumer electronic and tech news...
