The iPad mini has been on sale only a couple of hours and already the pre-order stock for the 16GB iPad mini has run out.
Customers going to Apple's UK online store to pre-order the new 7.9-inch Apple tablet will now be forced to wait up to "two weeks" if they want the entry level model . It can't now be delivered to their door on the 2 November launch date.

Apple is still promising to deliver 32GB and 64GB models on 2 November and the Wi-Fi + cellular models later in the month, as promised.
Many critics have complained that the price of the entry-level model is too high compared to the competition. The Kindle Fire HD costs £159 while the Nexus 7 from Google costs £159 also.

It seems that those who want an iPad mini are happy to pay the extra premium to get the tablet regardless.
UPDATE: That was quick, Apple has sold out of all white iPad mini models in both the UK and US. The company now says that online pre-orders will be shipped in no less than 2 weeks.
