Marantz Consolette speaker dock: beautiful, expensive and out in November
The Marantz Consolette Speaker Dock is a premium device with a price tag to match, retailing for a cool £899.90 this coming November.
It sports a metallic front, while the back of the speaker, in contrast, is made from walnut wood. A retractable docking tray found at the front of the system features a Gyro control wheel along with touch-sensitive keys that can be used to select from which medium you wish to play your tunes.
With the ability to stream music wirelessly from both iOS devices, via Apple’s AirPlay, and Android phones and tablets, Marantz has included a Line-IN and a USB port, should you wish to connect other compatible devices. Marantz’s NetLink technology also enables the speaker dock to connect wirelessly to a home network.
With access to an array of internet radio stations, the Marantz Consolette Speaker Dock possesses 150 watts of power, with two 4-inch bass drivers built-in.
Available from early November from high street retailers including John Lewis, the £899.90 may deter some. Yet they do say you get what you pay for.
