As Pocket-lint had previously reported they would, Orange has expanded its range of mobile data solutions with the launch of the new "connect-and-go" Orange iCON225 USB modem.

Orange is the first UK operator to offer the product which will be available to customers through the Orange Business Everywhere range.

The device will be priced from free on a range of new flat-rate price plans and offers "enhanced" mobile broadband capability in a plug-and-play USB-style form factor, providing high-speed access to internet and email.

Pre-loaded with the Business Everywhere virtual dashboard, the software can be configured to automatically select the fastest available mobile connection from a range including EDGE, 3G and 3G+ or HSDPA.

The Orange iCON225 USB modem will also be available to non-business users from early 2008. This version will be called "Internet Everywhere" and will be available to any computer user that does not need secure access.

For now, the Orange Business Everywhere iCON225 USB modem will launch first in the UK in mid-December, with European roll-outs to follow.
