Microsoft has confirmed it will be launching the Surface RT tablet in eight countries, including the UK, on 26 October.
The Surface will be available in Microsoft Store locations in the United States and Canada, including in all 34 new holiday stores, says Microsoft.
It's not just the UK that will be getting the new tablet, which aims to go up against the iPad. The Surface will be available for sale online in eight markets across the world: Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Originally unveiled in June, Surface with Windows RT, as Microsoft calls it, will initially be available in three varieties: a 32GB version, priced at $499; a 32GB version bundled with a black Touch Cover, priced at $599; and a 64GB version bundled with a black Touch Cover, priced at $699.
A variety of accessories will also be available, including Touch Covers in five vibrant colors — black, white, magenta, cyan and red. They will be priced at $119.99, while the Type Cover in black for $129.99.
In the UK the Surface will start from £399. The Touch Cover will cost £99.99 and the Type Cover £109.99.
