Legendary Hollywood director David Fincher will be executive producer of the new Halo 4 launch trailer, due to debut on 18 October ahead of the game's November launch.
The trailer will examine the backstory of the Halo’s protagonist, Master Chief, before focusing on what dangers he faces in the fourth instalment of the gaming franchise.
Fincher, who has directed such classics as Fight Club, Seven and 2010's The Social Network, will take the role of executive producer while Tim Miller, visual effects lead for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and The Girl with the Dragoon Tattoo, will direct.
The two-minute trailer, dubbed “Scanned”, will first be broadcast stateside on 18 October during the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show, before being made available on the Halo Waypoint and Xbox YouTube channels.
The advert was actually *spoiler alert* filmed in Prague, rather than outer space and if that’s not enough inside info for you, you can check out Pocket-lint’s preview here.
Halo 4 will be available from 6 November for £49.99, while a limited-edition version with bonus material including the live-action digital series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn can be bought for £69.99.
The game complete with a Halo 4 limited-edition Xbox 360 console will also be available for £269.99, while an additional standalone Halo 4 wireless controller can be purchased for £39.99.
