Logitech has unveiled three computer accessories that the manufacturer says will enhance your Windows 8 experience when the new operating system arrives later this month.
The products include two mice and one touchpad, all of which put touch at the forefront. The Logitech Wireless Rechargeable TouchPad T650, Logitech Touch Mouse T620 and Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400 are all designed to replicate a touch experience similar to that you would on a tablet, for example.
The Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 consists of a glass touch panel that enables users to navigate their way around Windows 8 by sliding their fingers across the surface.
As with a touchscreen, you can zoom in and out of the display by pinching and pulling your thumb and forefinger together, while a three-finger swipe will return you to the Start Screen. Users will be able to click left or right anywhere on the surface, while Logitech promises a battery life of up to one month. When you do run out of juice you can top up via USB.
The Logitech Touch Mouse T620 works as a conventional mouse but, like the Touchpad T650, the top of the mouse is touch responsive, enabling users to scroll through a page by simply moving their fingers. According to Logitech you can expect six months of use before you’ll need to recharge.
The Logitech Zone Touch Mouse T400 provides a similar experience to the T620, though is perhaps less glamorous in looks. A rubber grip wraps around the mouse and users can again navigate using the tips of their fingers.
Click on the front of the mouse and you’ll return to the Windows 8 Start Screen. Logitech also deserves a tip of the hat for giving the T400 a marathon battery life of 18 months.
The Logitech Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad T650 is available for £69.99, while the T620 and T400 mice cost £59.99 and £39.99 respectively.
