Contre Jour comes to browser thanks to Microsoft and Internet Explorer

The stunningly beautiful iPhone and iPad puzzle game Contre Jour is now available to play for free through a browser, thanks to the Internet Explorer team at Microsoft.

Pocket-lint reviewed the iOS version as an App of the Day just over a year ago and called it the closest thing to the next Angry Birds as could be. It was also nominated in our Best App category in the Pocket-lint Awards 2011, and although it lost out to Sky Go in receiving the ultimate accolade it came pretty close.

Now you can try it yourself, even if you don't own an Apple device because the full game is available at www.contrejour.ie. It will work in just about any HTML5-compatible browser but has been optimised to run in Internet Explorer 9. And it is claimed that it will work even better in the forthcoming Internet Explorer 10, with much of it designed to show off the power of the near future Microsoft release.

There will also be a Windows 8 app version of Contre Jour, available when the operating system is released this month.

For now, we suggest you go and lose yourself in the beautiful charmĀ of Maksym Hryniv's wonderful game.
