3 Skypephone now available in 8 countries

Challenging the status quo across continents

Mobile operator 3 has announced the launch this week of its 3 Skypephone handset in Sweden, Denmark and Austria.

This follows the previous introduction of the handset in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Hong Kong and Italy and means free mobile to mobile international Skype calls are available to 3 customers across eight countries.

The 3 Skypephone is a fully-featured 3G internet phone with free internet calling built-in. In addition to Skype calls the phone makes conventional calls and can be used to access 3's range of internet services.

Kevin Russell, CEO 3 UK, comments: "The 3 Skypephone has brought the worldsof home and mobile broadband together. Our customers are now able to enjoy the same Skype experience at home as on the move".
