A PlayStation 3 and PS Vita combo could be on Christmas wish lists this year, after the company admitted it was something it was considering.
In an interview with CVG, Fergal Gara, managing director of PlayStation UK, said a single package of both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita might work “better together”.
“We’d have nothing against that whatsoever,” said Gara, before adding: “And it’s not out of the question that we would do that this Christmas if we wanted to.”
Pressed further, Gara said that boxing the two devices together would give gamers the option of purchasing titles for both devices from one PlayStation Plus subscription with games using “cross-play” for both platforms.
Gara has been honest in his assessment of the PS Vita, admitting recently at the Eurogamer Expo in London that sales had not “done well enough”.
However, after ruling out a price drop for the handheld console, a bundled combo with the PlayStation 3 could be another option as the company tries to grab an all-important slice of the Christmas market.
