Customers went to giddy new heights on the iPhone 5 launch day when a pop-up store selling the device was erected at the top of The O2.

The “Pop Up at The O2” store sat on top the iconic landmark that overlooks London’s Canary Wharf and saw customers don harnesses before scaling a walkway 52 metres above the ground.

Those who braved the heights received their new iPhone 5 at the crack of dawn and were greeted with a 360-degree view of London as the sun rose. 

“Being one of the first to get my hands on the new iPhone is one thing, being able to get it from the top of The O2 has been mind-blowing," said Helen Squires, from Liverpool, one of the first O2 customers to buy the phone today Up at The O2.

“I’m no stranger to queuing but I’ve never waited before in a line so high or with such a view.  It’s made the experience even more of an adventure.”
