Nokia World has seen the unveiling of a pillow by the Finnish manufacturer. That’s right, a pillow.
A joint venture with Fatboy, the Fatboy Pillow Charger works with the Nokia Lumia 920 and enables users to simply lay their phone down on the cushion to receive a much-needed charge, thanks to in-built wireless charging on the new flagship Windows Phone 8 handset.
Nokia has already partnered with Virgin Atlantic and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to make wireless charging available - though wireless charging will initially appear only in Virgin Atlantic's Club Lounge.
Nokia announced the partnerships while boasting great battery life on the device, thanks to Windows Phone 8, the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 and a 2000mAh battery. Not efficient enough, perhaps.
However, in the home we can see the pillow finding an audience, just as the Touchstone did with the HP Pre.
Imagine it: you’re watching the TV, when you glance down to see your phone is nearly out of battery. Instead of having to get up and find and plug in your charger, you can simply rest the phone on the Fatboy pillow that is next to your Fatboy Buggle-Up.
The Nokia Lumia 920 has been fitted with a metallic strip that enables the phone to be charged wirelessly. As well as the Fatboy pillow, Nokia has also revealed a wireless charging pad for the Lumia 920.
