Philips is targeting the music connoisseur with its Fidelio X1 headphones, a set of audio cans designed to be enjoyed with your home stereo system.
That’s not to say the Philips Fidelio X1’s aren’t compatible with smartphone or tablet devices, but plug them into your Hi-Fi and, Philips says, you'll instantly benefit from a larger amplifier. Not to mention the 3 metre cable could be somewhat tanglesome.
Joining the Philips Fidelio L1 and M1 headphones, the X1’s house 50mm neodymium drivers, while treble is catered for by a diaphragm profile. The speaker drivers are slightly tilted for a more accurate and detailed sound, and Philips hasn’t shied away from making the X1’s as comfortable as possible.
Along with an adjustable headband, double-layered ear shells should ensure your lugs remain snug no matter how long you’re listening to your music. Constructed from metal and leather, the Philips Fidelio X1 headphones come with a 6.3mm jack.
Philips has so far remained tightlipped as to when we might be seeing these bad boys or for how much.
